And kinda pointless to bring up, but have you ever noticed that, in OoT, after you meet Zelda for the first time and Impa leads you out of the castle because "If the guards catch you, there will be trouble", whenever you return to the garden, you have to avoid them again? I mean, you only really HAVE to meet Zelda in the garden once, but what if you're like me, and want to go there multiple times? Anyway, I don't see why Zelda or Impa couldn't just tell the guards to let you through. Including the ones outside the castle. It would've made things much easier. Or they could've given you a pass or something. Maybe they wanted to keep your mission a secret from the others, but then again, Zelda gives you her letter to show to the guard at Death Mountain, which says that you're under her orders to save Hyrule. Oh, well. It's really not important, but it's kinda interesting to think about.

Every other time after that, Impa just appears at the entrance after you get to the other side of the room. I've only been there again once, so that's what I remember.
I always used to wonder what that door near the fountain entrance was, now that I think about it. It could've been useful to pass through again, like you said.
