For me, the LoZ music is very, very important. It sets the mood, and, at times, can make the difference between fun and frustration. If I like the background music, I can overlook more aggravating things.
Throughout the years, many of the songs from the early Zelda games have been remixed, yet still invoking that feeling of nostalgia that brings a tear to my eye.
...Okay, my short speech is over. Now, to the point: just talk about your favorite versions of the Zelda series' songs...the ones that have been remixed.
Such as:
The Main Theme (the one that plays at the start menu of the original game, along with LttP, FSA, TP, etc.)
The Hyrule Castle Theme
Saria's Song (Lost Woods)
Zelda's Lullaby
Epona's Song
Pretty much any song from OoT...anyway, discuss!
Out of all the versions of the Main Theme I've heard, I definitely like the one that plays at the Start Menu of Four Swords Adventures best. I love listening to it.
The first time I heard the Hyrule Castle Theme was in Wind Waker. At the time, I didn't know that it was actually an old song from LttP. So it was a very pleasant surprise to hear it in LttP, when I played it later. But I still like the WW version most of all. (The one that plays in the actual castle) TP's Hyrule Castle had a great remix, too.
I love Saria's Song...it's one of my favorite pieces of video game music. A small part of it plays in the Forest Haven background music in WW, and a lovely remix plays in the Sacred Grove in TP.
But my favorite version is the first one I heard, in the Lost Woods in OoT. That game was one of the first I ever played, and at the time, I knew almost nothing about the Zelda series (I had no idea that there was a kingdom beyond the Kokiri Forest).
I first played the game on my cousin's old N64, but by the time that I was old enough and more interested in video games, the GC had already come out. So when I heard that OoT would be re-released (the first time, with the MQ), I was overjoyed. When I played it, I was immediately reminded of my old OoT memories...especially when I heard the Lost Woods music.
Oh, dear...I seem to be rambling on. Sorry about that...once I get started talking about Zelda, there really is no stopping me.
I realized that most of my favorite versions of the songs were the ones I heard first...
Okay! Now you can talk! ;D
